In our inner world each quality and each characteristic holds its own opposite. Where there is love, there is hate. Where there is happiness, there is sadness. Where there is courage, there is fear and so on.
This opposites’ contrast scans our life’s rhythm and motion. The polarities tension makes our existence extremely rich and dynamic and, at the same time, challenging and unpleasant.
In order to get away from anxiety, we tend to focus on the most reassuring aspects of our life by repressing their opposite. Although this allows us to apparently avoid anxiety, its result is definitely paradoxical: it increases the uncontrollable, unaware and powerful effect on everything we try to repress or deny.
Unfortunately, it’s not about the repress nor the denying of the less pleasant and comforting opposites that will overcome anxiety. Instead, we can grow harmonically and in a fulfilling way, only if we are willing to welcome these opposites. In fact, only by accepting them we can explore and embrace our imperfect humanity and its potential.
In this 4-session highly experiential course, all participants will be lead in a journey of exploration of 4 opposite couples:
- Love vs Hate
- Courage vs Fear
- Success vs Failure
- Trust vs Mistrust
The goals of this course are:
- To increase participants’ compassionate and welcoming attitude towards self.
- To invite participants to explore denied or repressed inner aspects of themselves with kindness
- To help participants appreciate the beauty of their own complexity and humanity.
