The Unwelcome Guest

Introduction to chronic pain management

Joint pain, back pain, migraine, neuropathic pain, irritable bowel, chronic pelvic pain, menstrual pain, pain resulting from illnesses (cancer, arthritis, degenerative diseases, fibre pain, etc.), and pain of a psychosomatic nature can significantly undermine our quality of life. Especially if they are chronic and persistent.

It is estimated that between 25-40% of the population suffers from persistent or chronic pain.

The social and economic costs of this endemic phenomenon are enormous, although, to realise its severity, the real costs should be measured in terms of psycho-physical suffering. Especially in terms of despair, loneliness, frustration and incomprehension.

The aim of this workshop is to provide information on the psycho-physiological aspects of chronic pain and how it is possible to break out of the vicious circle that feeds it. In particular, its aim is to open a discussion on a phenomenon about which little is known yet, but which often becomes a cumbersome and unwelcome guest in the lives of many.

This seminar is open to all helping relationship professionals who work with people suffering from chronic pain and to all those who want to discover how to manage their persistent pain and thus improve their quality of life.
